NSW State Wide Pairs

August 1-7, 2016

In 2016 the NSW State Wide Pairs will run for one session only during the first week in August.

Hands are provided together with a booklet, which features brief commentary on each deal for perusal at the completion of the session. The event is then scored across all participating clubs and overall winners determined.

Cash prizes are presented, as well as gift vouchers from the Bridge Shop and certificates for the winners in each club. Prizes are also awarded in the restricted divisions of Under 25, Under 50 and Under 100 masterpoints (as at 30th June 2016).

All participating clubs need to register with the Nationwide Pairs scoring site, before you can submit your results to be scored. Click here to register. You will have already received your user login and password in an email.

2016 Results

There were 412 pairs competing in 23 different clubs. Final positions of all pairs can be found below. Certificates for the top placed pair in each club, cheques for overall place getters and Bridge Shop gift cards for restricted winners will be mailed to clubs soon.

Note that when the event is matchpointed across the state, percentages and order of rank can vary quite considerably from those obtained when matchpointing involves only those players within the club. The smaller the club session, the greater this effect. Detailed results for each pair can be found at http://nationwidepairs.com.au/nswbapairs.html.

This year’s winners were Phil Cummings and Robert Walkom from Bathurst and District Bridge Club with a score of 67.83 %. Congratulations on a great effort.

They just edged out Dianne Kajons and Anne Hunter, also from Bathurst, who scored 67.59 %.

Peter Reed and Michele Kerin at Dubbo came third with 66.33 %.

Colin Choat and Cameron Kirton (Camden Haven Lusc Bridge Club) finished fourth with Pranati Basu and Jennette Rosetta (IBA) fifth.

  • Below 25 MPs: Ron and Cherie Tilley from Cromer
